I am looking for the largest silver coin that has been or still is used in circulation.

Since the olimypics are over, they aren't making any more coins. You could maybe find one at the flea market, if you are lucky, but other then that, no.

I believe it’s the Austrian Thaler, with a diameter of 39.5 cm. It was used all over the world as a ‘trade dollar’, and was still in use in parts of the world, most notably Africa and the Middle East, after World War II. Today, it s a silver bullion ‘investment’ and collector coin.
The 1-ounce American Silver Eagle and Chinese Silver Panda are both slightly larger, but both are bullion coins and are not used as circulating coinage.
