This works ok but I think its a to much money for what you get. Coins miss sometimes so that makes the counter off. All in all it’s not bad.

We purchased this product about a year ago and now it doesn’t work at all. We, too, had problems with an odd coin getting in the machine and had to take the machine apart to get it out. We also had problems with the coins dropping into tubes of different denominations. We paid a lot of money for something that worked well once or twice.

This is a great unit. Sorting coins is easy and fast. The only issue that I have with it is counting the same types of coins and having it jam up on me. For example, I have a container of dimes that I want to sort so I dump a big handful into the hopper and it starts sorting. After it gets through 20 or so it starts to jam up with too many dimes in the chute and will occasionally overflow into the penny section. The best way I can describe it is a double feed. If you have a set of coins of the same type the best way to fix it will be to put the coins in a small handful at a time and let it finish, then put in another set of coins. I don’t have this problem when counting different types of coins.
If you have a lot of coins to sort through, the best method to sort through them quickly is to start with the slots pushed all the way in so the middle tube is the first one filled. Once it’s full, pull the slot out so the rear slot starts filling while you are sealing the end of the first one. If you do this in reverse where you fill the rear one first, then the middle one, you will have to wait until it’s full before pulling out the rear slot. You will also have to stop the machine because it will restart when you pull the slot out to get the rear one.
Great machine overall.

We recently purchased a Royal Sovereigh FS-3D coin sorter and found it to be a waste of money. First, the coin count was often in error so we had no confidence that the correct number of coins were present in the receiving tubes, so we had to check each one individually – not much of a time saver. Secondly, coins were frequently dropped in with coins of other denominations…pennies with nickels or quarters, dimes with pennies, etc. The only way we could find to prevent this was to put only one type of coin in the hopper. Third, the coins would sometimes not go in the coin tube at all, but would fall inbetween the tubes where they had to be fished out by hand. Fourth, the ‘clear’ button did not work, so a previous tally on the digital readout could only be cleared by turning the machine off and back on again. Fifth, on a number of occasions, the machine would not start even after pressing the start button…we would have to turn the machine off and then back on again to get it to work. All in all, the machine was a complete waste of money and we would not recommend it to anyone. If you need a counter/sorter, look for a different brand and model.

This coin sorter works very well with the exception of one minor quirk. Sometimes it kicks out the coins so fast, one or two might bounce of out it’s designated space and end up between the tubes or in the next one throwing your count off. That’s the only thing you really have to watch for. I’d recommend a kitchen scale or something to weigh the rolls upon completion just to be sure. A 50 cent piece accidentally got in the mix and while it did not hinder the performance of the machine, it was very easy to get out. (it just bounced around in there, annoying more than anything) The main cover has only three tiny screws and that gives you easy access to the sorter to pull out anything that shouldn’t be there. Overall, a great time saver.
